Dear Abandonia visitors: Help us keep Abandonia free with a small donation. Abandonia is like an old gaming arcade with only original games. Abandonia helps you have fun four hours and years. If Abandonia is useful to you, please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name Abandonia.com. We are still keeping the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

‐ Thank you from the Abandonia Team

We are trying to make it easy for people in every country to donate. Please let us know how we could make it easier for you.

Please give whatever you can to help us.

Abandonia - 10 YEARS!!!
10 Years! 10 Years! 10 Full Years of Abandonia! In 1999, on the 21st day of June, Abandonia saw for the first time the light of the internet. Many things have happened since then. People came, people left, problems appeared and problems got solved, but the games are still here, and that's the most important thing. No need to sink deep in the darkness trying to remember lost memories. Just read our special history page, leave a few words on the forum and start partying like never before with some serious old-school gaming sessions.

We've accomplished so much, this newspost is not enough for me to mention all. Forget that, even the history page is almost useless. Therefore I hope every member of our community keeps and guards the precious information stamped on their souls, because no matter what anyone says, Abandonia exists only for two things: old games and the people who play them.

Happy Birthday, Abandonia! Aim for the Million!

Celebrations and unprotections
Happy birthday indeed! As for celebration, there's gonna be a couple of nifty updates for today and Im gonna start with the first one.

Remember those Sierra's newest adventure game collection packages? Kings Quest, Space Quest, Police Quest and Leisure Suit Larry have their own collection DVD's. However, all these collections are missing games, including the first EGA games, which are replaced with VGA remakes.

And as the site policy goes, those games arent counted as "sold". Do you know what that means?

UNPROTECTIONS!

In short, following games are now downloadable again:
Kings Quest - Quest for the Crown
Space Quest - The Sarien Encounter
Leisure Suit Larry - In the Land of the Lounge Lizards
Police Quest - In Pursuit of Death Angel

Enjoy!

Boxshots for the Masses

For those who cannot tell the games by the tiny pictures and are too lazy to click on each one, here the titles in above order:
Realms
Star Legions
Stunt Island
UMS II - Nations at War
Utopia - The Creation of a Nation

Have a look at all those boxhots (and their games) and become Ermulized (<- that's the guy you should know by now because of the uncountable previous updates of his more or rather less profile-wisely countable contributions).

Finally, a general advice: Play responsibly! ...even if you are overwhelmed by any eccentric celebrations. Website anniversaries are especially dangerous!

Extras Festival

Just to show you that a great party must always end with a big Firework Festival, we prepared this Extras Mega-Update. Chris succeeded in transferring a lot of documents from the FTP:

Lemmings Chronicles, The - Manual (Frodo)
Anvil of Dawn - manual, reference card (Geezer)
Back To The Future Part 2 - Copy Protection, Manual (Geezer)
Captain Comic 2 - Manual, Copy Protection Codes (Geezer)
Incredible Machine, The - Manual (chuachinsoon)
Castles II - Manual (Xhumed)
Conquests of Camelot – Manual (Xhumed)
Alone in the Dark 1 - Manual (Xhumed)

Still not enough? Paco managed to upload Geezer's almost entire collection of advertisements for games. An impressive archive of gaming propaganda, indeed. You can find all of them in the boxshots sections for the respective games:

Alone in the Dark 1+2, B-17 Flying Fortress, Barbarian, Battle Chess, Black Cauldron, The Blades of Steel, Buck Rogers - Countdown to Doomsday, Budokan, Carrier Command, Castles 1+2, Castlevania, Centurion, Civilization 1, Clue - Master Detective, Codename - ICEMAN, Conquest of Camelot, Covert Action, Darklands, Defender of the Crown, Double Dragon 2, Double Dribble, Dune, Dungeon Master 2, Eye of the Beholder, F-19 Stealth Fighter, Gold Rush, Hero Quest...

More Ads...The Immortal, Indianapolis 500, Journey - The Quest Begins, The Keys to Maramon, KGB, Lakers vs Celtics and the NBA Playoffs, Laura Bow 1, The Legend of Kyrandia 1, Leisure Suit Larry 1, Leisure Suit Larry 3, Lord of the Rings 1, Lord of the Rings 2,The Lost Vikings, Lurking Horror, The Magic Candle, The Manhunter - New York, Manhunter 2, Mario Teaches Typing, MegaTraveller 1, MegaTraveller 2, Mixed Up Mother Goose, Moebius - The Orb of Celestial Harmony, PGA Tour Golf, Pirates...

I bet you're sick of ads now...Police Quest - In Pursuit of the Death Angel, Populous, Powermonger, Protostar, The Punisher, Quest for Glory 1 - So You Want To Be A Hero VGA, Rags to Riches, Railroad Tycoon, Realms, Red Storm Rising, Rex Nebular and the Cosmic Gender-Bender, Ringworld - Revenge of the Patriarch, Sea Rogue, Shogun, Silent Service 2, Spellcasting 101, Star Control 2, Starflight, Star Reach, Star Trek - 25th Anniversary, Stationfall, Sword of the Samurai, Test Drive - Triple Pack, UMS II, Wacky Funsters, Waxworks, Weird Dreams.

Happy Birthday, Abandonia! Enjoy the fireworks!
