Dear Abandonia visitors: Help us keep Abandonia free with a small donation. Abandonia is like an old gaming arcade with only original games. Abandonia helps you have fun four hours and years. If Abandonia is useful to you, please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name Abandonia.com. We are still keeping the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

‐ Thank you from the Abandonia Team

We are trying to make it easy for people in every country to donate. Please let us know how we could make it easier for you.

Please give whatever you can to help us.

Federation of Retro Games - Newpost 0911.1

DOS... the Final Frontier.

These are the voyages of the starship Abandonia. Its continuing mission: to explore strange old games; to seek out old adventures and new extras; to boldly go where no website has gone before.

Captain ESGMaster's log, suplimental, stardate 2009.111.

The Abandonia has arrived in the Sol System and has recovered an ancient artifact called "Starflight 2 - Trade Routes of the Cloud Nebula". After doing a lot of research, Ensign Geezer found an old advertising for it. Lt. Cmd. Marko_River has found out how to implement it's capabilities with the ship's main computer and is now available for download!

And... Checkmate!
People have been playing the game chess as we know it since the second half of the 15th century. You would think the kings and queens would be exhausted by now, but it's not so!

Today Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess has become abandonware - test your wits against the great man himself and learn from the library of his games contained within. So what are you guys waiting for? Knight to C3!

One-Legged One-Eyed Pirate Clown on a Monocycle

This one's kind of difficult to guess... It's probably a lie anyways. Or is it?! Well it's not as wicked as something taken from Condemned, Manhunt or American McGee's Alice, but it's close and it's better, because it stands somewhere at the roots of the horror genre: Alone in the Dark 2. Edward Carnby is back again to solve another mystery, this time filled with voodoo, pirates, and of course, ugly polygons. The only thing left for you is to figure out what was lie and what was truth in the title of the newspost.

The main event today is the addition of another manual version, the Copy Protection Cards and the Hint Forms which you would've used for ordering hintbooks, also we should definitely not forget the XMas edition of The Mystery Examiner, a one of a kind newspaper about murders, kidnappings and criminals who corrupt our innocent society. You can check it out NOW thanks to our crewmate Apple24.

Our Cosmic Peace

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and beyond... The conspiracy in Buck Rogers: Matrix Cubed is of interstellar, universal proportions, stretching far towards the intimidating unknown. Save the universe from a new conflict in this original SSI RPG.

We've added boxshots, the Rule Book, the Log Book and the Reference Card for the game. All credit goes to Geezer.

The Power of the Holy Word

Shooting people on the streets, leaving them to freeze in the crazy winter storms, laughing when the poor ask you for a piece of bread... Let me tell you this, son, you need more Bible. But that's not the only reason, because in your ignorance, by forgetting God, you've let this Dome of Darkness prosper on our once innocent lands. Now it shelters a vile and corrupt society, plotting against us.

But fear not! For Captain Bible is here, and with his Word of God, he'll vanquish the evil once and for all. Yes, we've added a new game: Captain Bible in the Dome of Darkness, basically an educational game with action elements set to teach you the most important verses from the Bible. I don't know how shady is the company that created it, but it's still a game, and hopefully the theme will remind you of the more important things in life. Many thanks to The_Lemming, who wrote the review and uploaded the game archive. We've also added 4 songs from it to our Abandonia Frequency.

Abandonia Network

Yesterday I was supposed to be posting an update on our... uhm... network activities. Somehow, playing a certain WWII strategy game all day made me forget about it. So here it is, a first attempt to do what we'd like to transform into a tradition in the future.

So first is our Youtube Channel. We've finally got past those "bureaucratic" impediments, which kept us from constantly uploading new videos on our channel. In the previous week we've upped 4, all intros: Prince of Persia, Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow & the Flame, Abandoned Places: A Time For Heroes and Gateway 2: Homeworld.

Next is the Last.FM Group. Someone out there keeps writing articles in our journal (we all know who that is). The last entry, Mea Culpa! combines MC Frontalot's music with Les Manley, and adds a little bit of Elvis at the end. Check the previous articles for more gaming suggestions in a musical context.

Our sister site, Reloaded, has added the first episode in the JRPG-styled series The Way, created by Crestfallen Studios. Also check our forums for the latest developments in the making of our Abandoned Times magazine. We've got a new editor.

You can find the links to the rest of the Abandonia Network below the Daily Quiz and the Quick Stats, somewhere around the place this arrow points to ---------> or just use the menu above called "AB Network". |+_=| Thanks to Lulu, Saccade and Dave for their efforts in maintaining these projects.

You Gotta Pimp My Plaaaane!

Lift off, fly high into the sky and beyond radars' reach, bomb enemy positions, turn them into dust and after a couple of hours return home and safely land your plane on the ground. Not an easy task in this Microprose classic: B-17 Flying Fortress.

But thanks to superjamie, we've brought a little helping material: the Technical Supplement, the Bombardier Manual, the Key Guide and an ISO of the game. You can find all of it in the extras section. Check the Notes at the bottom of the review, if there is some confusion related to it.

Kyle XY ... no, no - Kyle Blackthorne

"The prisoner must be kept under restraint at all times," the sergeant cautioned him. "Captain Blackthorne is an extremely dangerous man, trained in all forms of armed and unarmed combat. Maximum caution must be exercised at all times."

Today we add a Manual and boxshots to one of the first games from Blizzard - Blackthorne. As usual with this company, inside the manual is a quite long backstory, where we can learn a lot about the history and characters from the actual game.

Health Potion to Geezer as a thank you for this contribution.

Abandonia Network

This is our second newspost covering Abandonia's suspicious activities around the net. Over at our Youtube Channel we've uploaded some videos from the unique 3D sci-fi action adventure Bioforge (Intro, Gameplay, Outro) recorded by Capo, and the intros from the popular Role-Playing games Might & Magic III, IV, and V, all made by Acethor. If you haven't played the M&Ms, you'll have to check them out at GoG, though.

Abandonia Reloaded, the Number 1 site for all things free and indie has uploaded Nesquik Quicky. You've probably seen that guy somewhere on your cereal boxes, or other contaminated stuff hunting for your money. Once distributed with certain Nestle products, this little advertisement game was always freeware, but not many had the opportunity to try it out.

Besides succesfully gathering 100 members and already more, it seems the Last.FM group were partying all night long with the gods in Valhalla. Now, I don't know about you, but my opinion is that the silence on the forum is PROOF they were so drunk this morning they couldn't even get up and log in to Abandonia.

And finally we invite you to become cyberwarriors in Abandonia's service by joining these supersecret paramilitary organisations: Foreign Army of CyberElves and Technologically Enhanced Terrans. Thanks again to the video uploaders, Tomekk, Lulu and Saccade for keeping all these places active.

Today we conclude our Jill of the Jungle weekend with the final episode, Jill Saves the Prince. Special thanks to Eleima512 for reviewing this, and all the other parts!
