Dear Abandonia visitors: Help us keep Abandonia free with a small donation. Abandonia is like an old gaming arcade with only original games. Abandonia helps you have fun four hours and years. If Abandonia is useful to you, please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name Abandonia.com. We are still keeping the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

‐ Thank you from the Abandonia Team

We are trying to make it easy for people in every country to donate. Please let us know how we could make it easier for you.

Please give whatever you can to help us.

Bug Solved: Downloads on non-English entries

The bug that marked translated (=non-English) game entries as protected, and thus made the games non-downloadable there, has been fixed. If you encounter pages which do not follow our new instructions to have the same game status in all languages, please open a thread in Site Comments and Suggestions. Thanks!

Boxshots: Obitus

HailToNietzsche was in the depths of his own worst nightmare again, but this time there was no waking up. Lost and alone in a dangerous and alien world, he had to discover where he was, how he got there, and how he was going to get out! In a frantic search of the unfamiliar land, he explored aMAZEing forests, mines and underground complexes, collecting boxshots and interacting with indigenous creatures. The latter told him about the magic rites one can perform over the former, and so he accomplished to teleport back to his home, Abandonia, where the boxshots which travelled with him are stored in a shrine to worship them and their secret powers.

Atemporality

One more little technological step and time-travelling won't be only a fantasy in some sci-fi obsessed geek's mind. Until then, though, here's a game that lets you taste all the adventures and misfortunes that come with raiding the past eras. Your task is fixing the timeline and catch Morgana, and you can only accomplish that by visiting different stages in our society's evolution.

Avoid the temporal paradox when playing the latest point-and-click adventure game on Abandonia, Time Paradox, reviewed by the contributor from Middle-Earth, Frodo. We also thank The Fifth Horseman for the archive.

We Need Reviewers - Wizardry!

Sometimes when you browse through Abandonia's list of games, you have this feeling that something very important is missing, and it doesn't stop bugging you. You can laugh all you want, but it's actually a tragedy: we have only one Wizardry game, and it's the 7th part in the series. |+_=| Where are the first six?

I fail to see the reason why nobody's willing to take the initiative and bring them back to life. So we're taking a more aggressive approach, by asking you directly, since our site is all about voluntary work. So whoever is brave enough, or has writing skills and wants to review the games that drew the evolution path for RPGs, choose a game from here: I II III IV V VI, and post your desire in the respective thread.

Remember that you'll have the possibility to take only two reviews at a time (from those six). If noone's taken the rest by then, after uploading your reviews on the FTP, you have the right to take two more. Also, take note that we're talking about the Wizardry games, so we're expecting more than usual, both in quality and quantity. Thank you.

Manuals: Rogue - The Adventure Game
The story of these manuals is very Rogue-like. The printed original was converted to HTML by Michael Lehotay in January 2003. Donnie Russell revised it in January 2004, and sent it to Björn Bergström (now Ritzl) in October 2005. The latter added it to his site Roguelike Development when he tried to re-construct the contents of a perished site by core_ and mirror them with Lars Helgeland and Stewart Stremler. SlowCoder compiled the HTML manual to a PDF in November 2008, and uploaded it to our FTP. Both versions are to be found on Abandonia now.
