Dear Abandonia visitors: Help us keep Abandonia free with a small donation. Abandonia is like an old gaming arcade with only original games. Abandonia helps you have fun four hours and years. If Abandonia is useful to you, please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name Abandonia.com. We are still keeping the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

‐ Thank you from the Abandonia Team

We are trying to make it easy for people in every country to donate. Please let us know how we could make it easier for you.

Please give whatever you can to help us.

Ve ahh back! He's back too!

It's been a couple months since last update. Right now we can't yet fully disclose "whats", "whys" and "whos" - suffice to say we had a few technical and organisational problems.

Those have  now been resolved for the most part, and we're back on the track. Nail down your internet connection and get ready to rock!

For this occasion, I chose to add a game that - altough not exceptional - fits the event very well (and makes for a nice "Ah'll be back" pun too).

WWASD: What Would Ahhnuld Schwahhzaneggahh Do? Boot up his local Skynet node and got ready to terminate, that's what!

The sequel - because we're going to continue where we left off!

It isn't the best of games and it isn't the most famous of games to be added to the site, but it's a game our MrDeadly has reviewed a long, long time ago and it is a sequel, which in my opinion shows some continuity, as we're finally returning back to updating games and extras (as you've probably noticed before).

So big thumbs up to MrDeadly for preparing this review and treating us to such a horrific game - just the right thing to start the halloween season, which is nearing ever closer :)

Ancient Legacy - just for you!

As Abandonia is a site dedicated to bringing back to life the great computer gaming legacy of the ancient times of DOS and sometimes also early Windows games, I thought it would be apropriate to share with you this little piece of gaming history:

Legacy of the Ancients

Last Half... last problems with this game!

MrDeadly, the member who presented the Last Half of Darkness II has been kind enough to make a walkthrough for the game, so that you will not get stuck in the maze once you start playing, nor anywhere else in the game!

Big thanks for this big job well done!

Crazy as a fox!

Behind this iron gate there is a secret, guarded by this though looking dog. Do you dare enter and see what Ermuli prepared for you?

I'll give you a hint, it looks very nice and it is connected to the game.

Could it be new extras from Ermuli? :)

A fabled manual...

... or perhaps just the manual for Fable?

Whichever way you call it, it's now on the site - thanks to our long-time contributor Frodo.

abandoned means reborn
Today we bring you back one of the best games on abandonia.com, Syndicate. All new copies are sold  and the game is abandoned. There's nothing really much to say about it but if you never played it before you go immediately fix that. I mean now!

Don't drink and drive, just shoot and fly!
Yes, it's an oldie... a game where you can shoot, jump fly and drive. All of it in a very simple timewasting mixture called Buggy Ranger.

No blind challenges anymore!

Seems like at some point in the past something nasty bit Chip and ate the screenshots from the review of his game!

Well, good news - the screenshots have been replaced. Props to AlumiuN for taking the new ones!

Someone finally gets it.

Good Old Games - GOG for short - is a company that decided to do what most publishers out there don't give a rat's arse about: republish the classics. And - which I just can't stress out enough...

Make. Sure. They. Work. On. Modern. OS.

On today's market, where games just over a year old are often deemed "inferior" due to not using the latest graphical *bling*, where more and more "gamers" are kiddies whose first operating system was Windows XP and who never heard PC's used to be slower than 1 gHz, old games don't get a fraction of the respect they deserve.

With this kind of market, it takes balls of stainless steel to do what they're doing. Hats off, gentlemen.

PS. Naturally, we're removing any games we had up for download that are sold on the GOG site. (but will add new ones - that aren't - to compensate for it soon)

PS2. If only the site displayed the buylinks as it's supposed to... well, it doesn't, and our webteam doesn't seem in any hurry to fix it. So instead of properly linking to GOG's online store, the review pages will only show the ESA: NO GO icon, like they do with all other sold titles. :/

Boxshots: Mixed up Mother Goose

I see AlumiuN
and AlumiuN sees me
AlumiuN sees the boxshots I'd like to see.
God bless AlumiuN
and God bless me
God bless the boxshots I'd like to see!

Have a look at the boxshots by AlumiuN,
the man with the mixed up metal name I practised to write above
