Abandonia would like to commemorate the decease of Commodore International's founder Jack Tramiel, aged 83, by recommending the DOS port of classic C64 videogame Pirates! as today's choice.
We'd like to thank him for his efforts in popularizing computers to the public, making it possible for everyone to enjoy the benefits of owning a computer. Altough he left his famous company in 1984, he only did to revive another great name: after leaving Commodore International, he bought the remains of Atari to produce numerous great, but unfortunately less popular computers and videogame consoles.
Let us all remember his words on the industry "We need to build computers for the masses, not the classes", and remember him as one of the founding fathers of the modern world. He may have gone to the 8-bit choir in the 16-coloured sky, but his breadboxes will always deserve a special place in our hearts, and on our desks.
May He Rest in Peace Forever
